Welcome to Software Objectives
 

Software Objectives is a Melbourne based software house mainly involved with desktop development solutions on the Microsoft platform.

Our goal is to make the software you use save you time and improve the efficiency of your business processes.

We achieve this goal by implementing out of the box solutions, configuring them to suit your needs, coach and train your staff and implement custom applications only when needed.

The firm carries out contract development for client-owned packages, and also sells their own commercial packages. 

Software Objectives continually embraces new technology, and is always looking for ways to improve the quality of their own products and the service they are able to offer their clients. It is actively researching the impact Microsoft’s .NET has on the businesses it supports, and has been involved in cutting-edge web-based data retrieval systems for a top 20 Australian company. Email client systems are routinely included in their standard applications. The firm has expertise in a wide variety of data back-ends, including modern SQL systems.

Successful implementations we have been involved with often rely on Microsoft Office 2003 or 2007 and optionally include Microsoft SQL Server, Office SharePoint Server, Windows SharePoint Services, SQL Server Reporting Services and Exchange.

The two senior partners of the firm between them have over thirty five years experience in developing desktop applications, with a wide variety of industry experience over that time. With their previous experience using xBase systems, they are frequently involved with converting legacy applications to a more modern platform.

Using Standard Components
The site you are now looking at was created in a matter of days using standard templates available in Microsoft Office SharePoint Server. It provides both a public portal and a secure environment with special access for our employees and customers. We also use this portal as on-line project management tool for our larger projects. This allows the entire project team (including the customers) to immediately get factual information on the status of development and provide immediate feedback and reporting on issues and tasks.
