Creating a New Club

After a successful new installation the application will bring you automatically to this window.

At any time later you can reset your club by using these same resources. You will find it by navigating the main treeview.

- System Maintenance > Database Maintenance

Note: If you use this facility on an operating club, ALL EVENT AND MEMBERSHIP DATA WILL BE DESTROYED if you use it incorrectly.

 When might you use this?

a. After installing the application for the first time,

b. When you reinstall the application on to a new computer,

c. If your data was corrupted and you were advised to re-set your club,

d. You need to manage multiple clubs.

Step 1:    Remove Home Club Database

This step is not required for a brand new installation and will be skipped. For an existing installation it will create a backup of your current data, delete it from your computer and open a blank database.

Step 2:    Setup Home Club Database

Pressing this button obtains the current list of Clubs available on your installation CD. You cannot select a club that is not in this list.

If you are a newly created club, please apply to your National body for a new installation CD.

Choose the club you are creating and click 'Apply'.Your new club database will be created.

Step 3:    Update System Tables

Now that you have a database set up for your club, chances are your install CD is a few months old. You should now synchronise your new club with the national server. This will get such things as the latest ABF members, masterpoint totals, new club contact information, update VP Scales and the latest movements. Unless you have reason to do otherwise, tick all system tables and press the 'Update' button.

On slow connections or very old CD's, this process can take some time. Please be patient.

Step 4:    Reload Club Data

If your club is brand new, this step is not necessary. However, if you are reinstalling an existing club or recovering from a hardware failure, this step will reload all existing club data from the National server.

Choose all three options and press 'Reload'.

Again, if you have several years of event data, this can take a long time. Even up to one hour.

If your club has a lot of data and you need to rebuild your PC, consider restoring from a recent backup first and then run these updates.
